The December 2023 security update started rolling out to the Galaxy S21 FE a few days ago. Even more countries have received the update over the past few days. The new security update has now spread across several countries in Asia, Europe, and North America.
The variants of the smartphone that still haven't received the new security update should get it within the next few days. However, the update will be released in a phased manner, so not everyone will get the update at the same time.
Galaxy S21 FE gets the December 2023 security update in several countries.
In Europe, the Galaxy S21 FE is getting a new software update with the December 2023 security patch via firmware versions G990BXXS6FWL3 or G990BXXS6FWL2. In several Asian countries, the new update is available to the smartphone as a part of the Android 14 update, and it has firmware version G990EXXU7FWK6.
In the US, the Galaxy S21 FE with model number SM-G990U2 is getting the December 2023 security update as a part of Android 14, and it is available on AT&T and Cricket networks. The update comes with firmware version G990U2SQU7FWKD. In Canada, the Android 14 update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990WVLS9FWL1 and brings the December 2023 security patch.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you should've already received a notification for the new update. If you haven't already, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the latest firmware file that's appropriate for your Galaxy S21 FE's variant and flash it manually.
