Samsung has released the June 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE. Two variants of the Galaxy S21 FE—SM-G990B and SM-G990B2—are getting the newest security update across Europe, and we expect the update to expand to more countries and regions within the next few days.
Galaxy S21 FE June 2023 security update: What's new?
The latest security update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990BXXU5EWE7 for the SM-G990B version and firmware version G990B2XXU4EWE7 for the SM-G990B2 version. Both versions are getting the update in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK, and other European countries.
The June 2023 security patch included in the new software update solves more than 60 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. The new update doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements. At least, they are not mentioned in Samsung's official changelog for the new Galaxy S21 FE update.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in Europe, you can now check for the new update. You can do that by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
