Factory-unlocked and carrier-locked Galaxy S21 FE variants gets March 2025 security update in USA
The new software update that is rolling out for the carrier-locked and factory-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S21 FE in the USA brings the March 2025 security patch. The update for the carrier-locked version comes with firmware version G990USQSFGYC1, while the one for the factory-unlocked variant comes bearing firmware version G990U1UESFGYC1.
The March 2025 security patch fixes 58 security flaws that were discovered in the previous software versions. The update doesn't bring any new features.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in the USA, you can check for the new update by opening the Settings app on your phone and then heading to Software update and tapping Download and install.
Alternatively, you can download the appropriate firmware file from our database and flash it manually using a computer running Windows OS and having the Odin tool installed.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. It received the Android 13 update later that year and the Android 14 update in late 2023. It hasn't received the Android 15 update yet, and it might come in the next couple of months.
