A few days ago, Samsung released the May 2022 security update to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra in the US. Now, even the Galaxy S21 FE has started getting the update, but that's limited to the carrier-unlocked model for now.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE (SM-F990U1) bears firmware version G990U1UES3CVD3. The new update brings the May 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of known security vulnerabilities and makes the phone more secure. It might also contain some other bug fixes, performance improvements, and better stability.
The update is currently rolling out on AT&T, Cellular South, Comcast, Sprint, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile's networks in the US.
If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can download and install the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
