Two weeks ago, the Galaxy S21 FE started getting the October 2022 security update. Back then, the update was limited to a few Asian countries. Now, Samsung has released the new security update to the Galaxy S21 FE in European countries.
The new software update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990BXXS2CVI5 in Europe. It is now available in Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the UK. It could be released in more European countries in the next few days.
According to Samsung's documentation, the October 2022 security patch fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities. The changelog also mentions that the Galaxy S21 FE's stability and performance may improve with the latest software update.
If you live in any of the European countries listed above and own the Galaxy S21 FE, you can install the new security update on your device. You can do that by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
