The Galaxy S21 series started getting a new firmware update last week. It wasn't as large as Android 12, but it included the latest January 2022 security patch. Initially rolled out in the Netherlands, fast forward to the present day and the January 2022 security patch is also available for Galaxy S21 series in Korea and the United States.
The new update featuring the January 2022 security patch carries firmware versions G99xNKSU3BULF in South Korea and G99xU1UES4BULE for the unlocked model sold in the United States.
Evidently, this new update isn't as exciting as Android 12 and One UI 4.0, but, as usual, it addresses various vulnerabilities found within Google's firmware and Samsung's own software, keeping your phone safe from potential threats.
Samsung detailed the January 2022 security patch last week. It fixes a whopping 52 issues affecting Google software and 10 Samsung vulnerabilities.
Galaxy S21 series customers in Korea and the USA should be able to download the new update and January 2022 security patch from the Settings app on their phones. SamMobile readers can also download the latest Samsung firmware for free from our website and install the update manually.
