The July security update has been rolling out for Galaxy devices for a while now, but the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung's latest flagship offerings, were a little late to the party. And once the Galaxy S21 series did start getting the July update, the rollout started off with carrier-locked variants in the US, which came as a surprise to everyone.
It wasn't until a couple of days back that the update made its international debut, and now, it's arriving in more countries around the globe. The latest Galaxy S21 series update is rolling out in the UK, Greece, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Bulgaria, India, and many more markets, with the full list available over in our firmware archives.
Another update that improves camera performance
The build number accompanying this update is G99xBXXU3AUG4, and unlike the update that was released in the US, the international models are getting more than just security fixes. The changelog mentions improved camera performance as well, though Samsung doesn't go into more detail. It's probably a case of the company repeating previous changelogs, but it's also possible Samsung has made further attempts to tackle all the Galaxy S21 camera lag issues we had reported on weeks ago.
Either way, the release of the July update for the Galaxy S21 series has now picked up steam, and there's a good chance you will find it waiting for you when you tap the Download and install button in your phone's Settings » Software update menu. If your country has received the update, you will also be able to upgrade your phone using the full firmware files you can grab from our archives.
