We have more great news for One UI 5.0 beta testers, specifically Galaxy S21 customers in India and the UK. Samsung is now rolling out the second One UI 5.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S21 series in these countries, and the changelog reflects the latest Galaxy S22 beta firmware.
The second One UI 5.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S21 lineup seemingly brings the same revamped lock screen customization options and wallpaper gallery as the third beta for the Galaxy S22 series. Galaxy S21 customers running the second beta firmware will be able to long-press the lock screen to start customizing various aspects, from widgets and clock styles/colors to notifications and wallpapers. You can find more details in our Galaxy S22 One UI 5.0 beta 3 video below.
Galaxy S21 One UI 5.0 beta 2 adds the latest features and quality-of-life improvements
In addition to the lock screen changes, the second One UI 5.0 beta update for the Galaxy S21 series in the UK and India brings improved animations and a better UI for the Album tab at the bottom of the Gallery app.
Furthermore, the “Auto restart if necessary” option in Device Care is now turned off by default. And the firmware also addresses a plethora of bugs that were also affecting the Galaxy S22 before the 3rd beta firmware rolled out yesterday.
Because the second One UI 5.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S21 lineup brings the same changes and additions as the third release for the Galaxy S22, it looks like the 2021 flagship series will skip a beta update for the betterment of the user experience, no doubt.
It is possible that this might be the last beta update for Galaxy S21 customers before Samsung starts rolling out One UI 5.0 to the public, but it all depends on how polished this release turns out to be. As usual, we'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more about the availability of future updates.
Thanks for the tip, Adam!
