Samsung has once again released a new security patch before every other OEM. The changelog for the April 2022 security patch hasn't even been published yet, but Samsung is now rolling out this update ahead of time, as it usually does. The Galaxy S22 was the first to get the latest patch last week, and the Galaxy S21 series is now catching up with the 2022 flagship models.
The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are now getting a new firmware update with the April 2022 security patch included. The latest update can be identified by firmware number G99xxXXS4CVCG. It's now rolling out for the Galaxy S21 5G trio in Germany (SM-G99xB).
Galaxy S21 series customers in markets where the new update is available can open the Settings app on their phones, tap Software update, followed by Download and install to begin the update process. If this doesn't trigger the update, you'll have to wait for Samsung to reach your market and/or device.
Alternatively, eligible Galaxy S21 users can download the new update from the firmware section on our website and install it manually using Samsung's official Odin tool. Just make sure you download the correct firmware version for your device and region.
