Eagerly anticipating the release of the One UI 6.1 update for your Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, or Galaxy S21 Ultra? Well, bad news: that update is nowhere in sight. Instead, Samsung has released a standard security update for its 2021 flagship lineup.
One UI 6.1 is currently available only for Samsung's flagship devices launched in 2023, and while it could reach some older flagships later this month, owners of the Galaxy S21 series phones will probably get One UI 6.1 in May at the earliest.
Anyway, security updates are important, too, and Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra users in some markets can now download the April 2024 security update on their phones. It is available in some European countries at this time, but a wider rollout should begin soon.
To check if the update–sporting build number G991BXXSAFXCL, G996BXXSAFXCL, and G998BXXSAFXCL for the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra–is out in your country, navigate to the phone's Settings » Software update menu and hit the Download and install button.
You can also update your phone by installing the latest firmware on it using a Windows PC. Galaxy S21 firmware are available for download in our archives.
