Pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 series in India offered paltry benefits, such as a discounted smartwatch or earbuds. Early Galaxy Tab S8 adopters could get an extra keyboard cover for no additional charge. Now, the pre-order window has officially ended, but Samsung still has a few benefits in store for those looking to buy a Galaxy S22 or Galaxy Tab S8 device.
Samsung has extended the window by which one can avail of the pre-order offers, at least for some of the Galaxy S22 phones. Hence, Galaxy S22 Ultra buyers can still get a Galaxy Watch 4 for just INR 2,999. However, Galaxy S22/Galaxy S22+ customers have to fork out INR 2,999 for a pair of Galaxy Buds 2 (previously INR 999 with pre-orders).
Those upgrading from an older Galaxy S or Galaxy Note device get an extra INR 8,000 credit if they exchange their device. Similarly, users from other OEMs will get INR 5,000 worth of credit on top of the existing price of their device. Samsung Finance users can get INR 5,000 as cashback as well.
Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra owners are still eligible for a keyboard cover, but at a discounted price of INR 4,700, INR 6,250 and INR 11,500, respectively. While there is no exchange credit for Samsung's tablets, HDFC Bank cardholders can get a cashback of INR 10,000, INR 8,000 and INR 7,000 for the tablets.
Despite these seemingly lacklustre pre-order offers, at least compared to what Samsung offered in other markets, the Galaxy S22 series was well-received in India. Pre-order numbers were well above expectations, but, that, in turn, has affected delivery timelines. If you're on the lookout for a Galaxy S22 or Galaxy Tab S8, you'd be better off buying offline, lest you want to wait for over a month for your smartphone/tablet to arrive.
