Samsung began updating the Galaxy S22 series with the April 2023 security update in the USA earlier today. Now, this month's update is expanding its reach to include Europe.
Or more specifically, the April 2023 update is available for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra on the border of Europe, i.e., in Caucasus countries. The update can be identified by firmware version S90xBXXU4CWCG.
Better security and Image Clipper
Likely, the April 2023 update will soon be available for the Galaxy S22 series in other parts of Europe. And the good news continues, as the Galaxy S23's Image Clipper feature appears to be included in this new update.
The April patch also fixes various Exynos security flaws and dozens of issues concerning Google's Android OS. In total, the April update addresses 66 security flaws, 55 of which affect Android.
Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra users in countries where the April 2023 update is rolling out should be able to update their phones upon receiving the notification or by triggering the process by opening the Settings app on the phones, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”
