Samsung's decision to ship the vanilla Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S21 with a plastic back didn't sit well with many fans and enthusiasts. They were, after all, paying for a flagship experience, and a plastic body doesn't quite fit into the equation. Thankfully, Samsung plans on setting things right with the upcoming Galaxy S22 series, if a new leak is to be believed.
Renowned leaker Ice Universe has heard from sources that all three Galaxy S22 models will feature an all-glass body. It is a significant, often-ignored quality-of-life improvement that should help win back some disgruntled Samsung fans back to the fold (heh). We first got an idea about the Galaxy S22 series' chassis material via the pre-production dummies that showed up a few days ago.
Then again, we also have to bear in mind that most users will almost always end up encasing their shiny new Galaxy S22 in a protective case, of which there will be many from Samsung itself, according to one report. Furthermore, all those camera sensors sticking out from the body on the Galaxy S22 Ultra will pretty much force users to use a protective casing.
While the inclusion of an all-glass body is a welcome addition for the vanilla Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+, we'd also like to see other improvements, such as a QHD+ screen on all three models, although that is unlikely to happen this time around. Nonetheless, it is a step in the right direction and we sincerely hope that Samsung does the same for future releases.
