Earlier this week, Samsung released the December 2022 security update to the Snapdragon variants of Galaxy S22 series phones in some Asian countries. Now, the company has released the new security patch to the Exynos version of the Galaxy S22 in European countries.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with firmware version S90xBXXU2BVL1. The update brings the December 2022 security patch that fixes 93 security vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update might also include general bug fixes and improve the reliability of the phone.
If you live in Europe and have a Galaxy S22 series smartphone, you can install the new update on your phone by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy S22 series, which Samsung launched earlier this year with Android 12 onboard, received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update a couple of months ago. The phones in the series will get three more Android OS updates (up to Android 16) in the future.
