Samsung started rolling out the February 2024 security update to its smartphones earlier this month, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 were the first phones to get it. Over the past few weeks, the new security update has been released to several phones and tablets. It is now available for the Galaxy S22 series.
Galaxy S22 gets February 2024 security update in Europe
The latest software update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra is now available across Europe. The update comes bearing firmware version S90xBXXS7DXAC and includes the February 2024 security patch that fixes 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. It is a small update, so don't expect it to bring any new features or performance improvements like the Galaxy S24 is about to get.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in Europe, you can now check for the new update. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone and then navigate to Software update and tap Download and install. An alternative method for installing the new update includes directly downloading the appropriate firmware from our firmware database and flashing it manually using a computer running Windows OS and having the Odin tool.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The phones in the lineup received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. The Galaxy S22 series will likely get many new features with the One UI 6.1 update in the next couple of months.
