According to a new report, tipster Ishan Agarwal has confirmed that Samsung will launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 versions of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in India. This would be the first time Samsung is launching the Snapdragon version of a Galaxy S flagship phone in the Indian market. Last year, the South Korean firm had launched the Snapdragon 865 version of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India after high demand.
Going by a previous leak, Snapdragon versions of Galaxy S22 series smartphones will be launched in China, Japan, Latin America, North America, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. Exynos 2200 variants of the smartphones will be available in Africa, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Europe, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia.
Both Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 are fabricated using Samsung Foundry's 4nm process and feature ARM's v9 CPU cores. They also feature 5G (mmWave and sub-6GHz), GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. However, the Exynos 2200 uses the AMD RDNA 2-based Xclipse 920 GPU with hardware-accelerated ray-tracing and VRS. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 uses the new-generation Adreno GPU.
