Last week, Samsung became the first Android OEM to release the August 2022 security update. The new patch was released to the Galaxy S22 series in Europe. Now, the update, which fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities, has started rolling out more widely.
The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra have started getting the August 2022 security update in Latin America with firmware version S90xEXXU2AVG6. In Russia, the firmware version is bumped up to S90xBXXU2AVG6. The update is also rolling out to the Galaxy S22 series in South Korea, and the latest firmware version is S90xNKSU2AVG6.
In the US, Samsung has released the update to the carrier-locked versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra with firmware version S908USQU2AVG6. The update is yet to be released in other Asian markets and to the carrier unlocked models in the US.
If you have a Galaxy S22 and if you live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download and install the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the respective firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
