Samsung has now released the June 2023 security update to the Galaxy S22 series in Europe. The company started rolling out the June 2023 security update last week, and some mid-range and high-end phones, including the Galaxy A23, Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52s, Galaxy Note 20, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4, have already received the update.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra bumps up the device firmware version to S90xBXXU5CWEA. The update includes the June 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. Some of those flaws are related to Exynos chips and the Knox security suite. The changelog doesn't mention any new features or improved performance with the new update.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and if you live in Europe, you can check for the new update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. If the new update is available, it will be downloaded and installed in a few minutes. We recommend downloading the update using a Wi-Fi network.
Samsung could release the new security update in other countries and regions within the next few weeks. The Galaxy S22 series is scheduled to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update by the end of this year. Once the update becomes available in our firmware database, you can download it and flash it manually.
