The update is available for both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 units in the US.
Galaxy S22 gets March 2024 security update before One UI 6.1 arrives
The new software update for the carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra has arrived in the US with firmware version S90xUSQS4DXBG. The factory-unlocked models of those phones are also getting the update, and they carry firmware version S90xU1UES4DXB5.
The new update includes the March 2024 security patch, which fixes over four dozen security patches. These patches are for security vulnerabilities found in previous software versions. It doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.
If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in the US, you can now check for the new update on your phone. You can do that by opening the Settings app on your phone, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
In the next few months, Samsung will release the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S22 series. However, this update won't include AI-powered features that debuted with the Galaxy S24 series. Watch our in-depth video below to see the rest of the features that One UI 6.1 brings.
