The Galaxy S22 series is now getting the May 2023 update in more markets. The update debuted on the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S22 series in South America last week, and now, it's expanding into North America and Europe.
The May 2023 security update available for the Galaxy S22 series across Europe can be identified by firmware version S90xBXXS4CWD3. Similarly, the US-unlocked Galaxy S22 series is getting the May 2023 update through firmware version S90xU1UES2CWD3.
In other words, the latest security patch is now available for more Snapdragon models in North America and for the Exynos variants internationally, starting with Europe. And same as before, the update doesn't bring any new features or significant changes to the user experience. It's all about improved security. And security issues the May 2023 security patch addresses! The firmware fixes more than 70 security flaws affecting all sorts of facets, from Android OS and the bootloader to Exynos modems.
As usual, Galaxy S22 users who prefer manually updating their phones can download the official firmware files from our website. Alternatively, look for an update notification to land on your phone and tap it to begin the process. Or better yet, open the Settings app on the Galaxy S22, access “Software update,” and tap “Download and install” to begin the download and installation. Assuming, of course, that Samsung is already rolling out the May update in your region.
