Last week, Samsung released the One UI 6.1.1 update to the Galaxy S22 series in South Korea. This week, the update's reach has been expanded to Europe and India. The One UI 6.1.1 update brings several new Galaxy AI features and other One UI enhancements to the Galaxy S22 series.

Galaxy S22 gets several new Galaxy AI features with One UI 6.1.1 update

The One UI 6.1.1 update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra is now available in India. It is a 2.8GB update that comes with firmware version S90xEXXUAEXH7. This update also includes the September 2024 security patch that fixes 67 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version.

If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in India, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install on your phone. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using the Odin tool.

What is new with One UI 6.1.1 update on Galaxy S22?

The One UI 6.1.1 update brings several new Galaxy AI features, including Sketch to Image, Portrait Studio, Composer, Listening Mode in Interpreter, and PDF summarization and translation to the Galaxy S22. It also brings the ability to translate the text found in images on webpages. One UI 6.1.1 also brings support for real-time language translation in third-party apps like WhatsApp.

In Voice Recorder, the language is automatically recognized, which makes it easier to translate it into another language. Moreover, voice recordings and their transcripts can now be edited easily in the Voice Recorder app.

The update also brings Live Effects to photos. You can clip multiple people or objects from an image and create animated GIFs from Motion Images. Samsung Health now supports Energy Score, FTP meters, detailed and more accurate sleep analysis, and Galaxy AI-powered personalized health tips.

Smart Select has been improved, offering context-based smart actions based on what you've selected. It is now easier to switch between picture-in-picture and split-screen multitasking modes. The My Files app now has an enhanced UI that is visible while copying or moving files. You can add shortcuts to files from the My Files app on the home screen. The stock file manager app now shows thumbnails of images in their correct aspect ratio.

You can now highlight important dates in Samsung Calendar using the straight-line highlighter. You can erase highlighted sections without erasing other markings. There are more automation options related to Galaxy Watches in the Modes And Routines app. These options include AOD, Disconnection Alerts, Do Not Disturb, Sound Modes, Touchscreen To Wake, and Touch Bezel To Wake.

You can design your own profile card and contact picture, and that will be visible to your family and friends if they have a Galaxy device. Skimming through videos is now quicker in the stock video player. You can now answer calls by clicking the accept button instead of swiping it. One UI 6.1.1 also brings more frequent weather updates and improved security.
