A few days ago, Samsung released the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S21 and S22, along with its older foldable devices. However, due to a major software bug, Samsung had to stop the rollout of the update to the Galaxy S22 series. However, the company has now resumed the update.

Samsung has resumed (via @tarunvats33) the rollout of the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in South Korea. The update comes bearing firmware version S90xNKSU3EXE1 and has a download size of around 3.2GB. It can now be installed by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.

This is a major software update, so make sure that you download it via a Wi-Fi network. Also, make sure to backup your personal data from the phone before installing the new update. This update brings Circle to Search, real-time language translation in calls and messages, text language translation in pictures, webpage summarization (Samsung Internet), notes summarization (Samsung Notes), voice transcribing (Samsung Voice Recorder), Generative AI-powered image editing, AI-powered wallpaper generation, and more.

You can check all the One UI 6.1 features in our video below. The Galaxy S22 series didn't get some of the AI features with this update, though.

As promised, Samsung has resumed updating the Galaxy S22 in South Korea. We expect the update rollout to resume in other countries and regions. This update doesn't bring the May 2024 security patch. Keep checking your Galaxy S22 series phone for the update over the next few days.
