More and more users around the world are getting the One UI 6.1 update on their Galaxy smartphones as the month goes by. Following a limited release for the Galaxy S22 series in Korea, One UI 6.1 has been making its way to the 2022 flagship in other countries, and India has now been added to the list.
The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in India sports the build number S90xEXXU8EXE1. Like users in other countries, Indian Galaxy S22 owners are getting the April 2024 security patch along with the update.
They are also getting many of the fancy Galaxy AI features with One UI 6.1, such as live translation, chat assist, generative wallpapers, generative image editing, Circle to Search, and more. The full changelog, including both AI and non-AI features and improvements, can be found here. You can also watch the videos above and below for more information on everything that's new on the latest version of One UI.
To download One UI 6.1 on your Galaxy S22, S22+, or S22 Ultra, head into the phone's Settings » Software update menu and tap the Download and install button. You can also find One UI 6.1 firmware in our firmware library and use it as an alternate method to update your phone.
However, since the One UI 6.1 update locked some users out of their phones when it was released in Korea, you may want to follow the advice provided at this link before proceeding with the installation to prevent data loss. And if you're downloading the update directly on your phone but don't have access to a Wi-Fi connection, you should make sure you have enough mobile data bandwidth as the update is almost 3GB large.
