Samsung only just started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S22 series in Europe, and the company is already ready with the next update for the 2022 flagship.
The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are receiving the May 2024 update in some European countries. This is the first post-One UI 6.1 update for these phones and comes bundled with the May 2024 security patch.

The new update sports the build number S90*BXXSAEXE3, and if you know how Samsung’s firmware build numbers work, you may have realized that this update only provides security enhancements. Nothing else will change when you install it on your Galaxy S22, S22+, or S22 Ultra, though it’s not surprising considering this update comes so soon after the One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI update.
The May 2024 security patch is available for very few Galaxy smartphones as of May 14, so owners of Galaxy S22 series phones get to be part of an exclusive club until Samsung decides to make the latest security enhancements available for more devices.
You can download the update on your Galaxy S22, S22+, or S22 Ultra through its Settings » Software update » Download and install menu. If it doesn't show up, try again later or simply wait for the phone to notify you on its own once the update is available.
