Samsung was among the first Android OEMs to release a true-blue high-end smartphone this year. The Galaxy S22 Ultra was launched in February, and it brought a new design, a brighter display, better cameras, and an S Pen without sacrificing battery capacity. The device has now been adjudged as the ‘Best Big Phone' of 2022 by MKBHD.

Marques Keith Brownlee (a.k.a MKBHD), the celebrated American tech YouTuber, chose the Galaxy S22 Ultra as his choice of the best big smartphone released this year. According to him, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has “one of the absolute best displays” in the industry. And he loved the fact that the device had a built-in S Pen without sacrificing the battery capacity.

He also loved the phone's cameras. He went on to say that the Galaxy S22 Ultra has “multiple great cameras on the back.” MKBHD also praised the phone's stereo speakers and good software and said that the phone has “really no hardware flaws.” He said that the Galaxy S22 Ultra reminded him of Galaxy Note phones from the past.

The other big phones that got honorable mentions in the category include the ASUS ROG Phone 6 and the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. Unfortunately, Samsung didn't win any other awards in other sections, including the best small phone, best phone design, best phone camera, best phone battery, and best value phone. Moreover, no Galaxy Z series phone won an award this year.

Here is the list of all the phones that won MKBHD's Phone Of The Year Awards for 2022.
