Yesterday, Samsung revealed information about the December 2023 security update. Now, the company has released the new security update to its current-generation flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The update is available only in the US for now.

Carrier-locked Galaxy S23 gets December 2023 security update

The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are getting the December 2023 security update in the US. The update comes bearing firmware version S91xUSQS2BWKA and includes the November 2023 security patch that fixes up to 75 security flaws found by the company. It is only a security update, so don't expect to see any performance improvements or features.

If you have a Galaxy S23 series device with a carrier lock in the US, it is time for you to check for the December 2023 security update. You can do that by opening the Settings app on your phone and then navigating to Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database shortly for the manual firmware flashing process. The update should be available in other countries soon.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series earlier this year with Android 13-based One UI 5.1 onboard. The devices recently received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update across the world. Now, the phones are getting their first security update after the major Android 14 update.
