A few weeks ago, Samsung unveiled a bunch of Fan Edition devices, including the Galaxy Buds FE, Galaxy S23 FE, and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series. While the Galaxy S23 FE went on sale in India the same week, it just started becoming available in the US. In Europe, it will arrive in a few weeks, and it could come with a surprise.
While the Galaxy S23 FE launched with Android 13 pre-installed in the US, in Europe, it could run Android 14 out of the box, at least according to a report from GalaxyClub. Samsung is reportedly testing Android 14 on the Galaxy S23 FE, and by the time the phone is launched in European countries in early 2024, the phone will run Android 14-based One UI 6.0 out of the box.
Will Galaxy S23 FE get four Android OS updates after Android 14?
Samsung announced that it will release four major Android OS updates to the Galaxy S23 FE, similar to its promise for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, the other Galaxy S23 phones were launched early in 2023, and will be updated to Android 17 towards the end of 2026. However, if the Galaxy S23 FE launches with Android 13 in some countries and Android 14 in others, will the devices which launched with Android 14 pre-installed get Android 18?
Well, there's no clear answer yet. It will only be clear once the Galaxy S23 FE goes on sale in Europe in early 2024. Samsung should've ideally delayed the availability of Galaxy S23 FE and launched it with Android 14 out of the box. That would've made the purchase even sweeter for Galaxy S23 FE buyers.
