Earlier this week, Samsung released a new software update to the Galaxy S23 FE that brought the August 2024 security patch to the smartphone. However, the company had made it available only for the carrier-unlocked variant of the phone in the United States. Now, the brand is rolling out the new firmware to the international variant of the device, which has the model number SM-S711B, in India.
The new software update changes the firmware version of Samsung’s latest Fan Edition smartphone to S711BXXS4CXGC. Samsung’s August 2024 security patch contains fixes for 50 security issues. These fixes come from Google as well as the South Korean tech giant.
If you have the international variant of the Galaxy S23 FE and live in India, your phone might have already notified you about the latest update. If it hasn’t, you can check for it manually by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. If you don’t get the update even after doing so, you can either wait for Samsung to make it available for your device or simply head to our database and download the new firmware.
The next big update for the Galaxy S23 FE is One UI 6.1.1, which will bring many new features to the phone. You can check those all out in our video below.
Samsung is also developing Android 15-based One UI 7.0. It too will bring massive changes, as we have already seen in leaks. We are expecting the company to release its beta version in the third week of this month. However, a recent report suggests that Samsung might have delayed the software’s rollout indefinitely.
