The Galaxy S23 has just started reaching its first customers, and Samsung is ready with the first software update for its latest high-end smartphones. The Galaxy S23 series is now getting the February 2023 security update, and it improves the phone's security. It might also bring some bug fixes for problems faced by early customers and reviewers.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with firmware version S91xBXXU1AWBD. The new update is rolling out in most European countries, and we expect it to reach other countries within the next few days. The unlocked versions of the smartphones will get updated prior to those units that are carrier-locked, especially in the US. The latest update is over 567MB in size, so we advise you to download it using a Wi-Fi network.
If you have a Galaxy S23 series device and if you live in Europe, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using the Odin software.
Samsung has promised to release four major Android OS updates to the Galaxy S23 series. The lineup was launched with Android 13-based One UI 5.1 and will be updated to Android 17 in the future.
