Samsung started rolling out the July 2023 security update to the Galaxy S23 series last week. However, the update was only available to the carrier-locked and factory-unlocked models of the phones in the US. Now, the South Korean firm has expanded the availability of the update to the European market.
Galaxy S23 gets July 2023 security update in European countries
The latest software update for the Galaxy S23 series comes bearing firmware version S91xBXXS3AWF7 in Europe. It is a 429.68MB update that is available across Europe. It brings the July 2023 security patch that Samsung claims to solve over 90 security flaws found in the previous version of the software. Since Samsung released a lot of improvements related to the camera and performance last month, don't expect this update to bring anything new in terms of features or performance.
If you have a Galaxy S23 series phone and live in Europe, you can now check for the new software update. To do that, head over to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running a version of Windows OS and the Odin tool for the manual flashing process.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series earlier this year, and it has been immensely successful, selling as much as 60% more than the Galaxy S22 in some markets during the pre-order period. The phone lineup debuted with Android 13 out of the box, and it is expected to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update later this year. A One UI 6.0 Beta Program could be launched as soon as next week in some countries.
