Samsung has expanded the availability of its newest security update to the Galaxy S23 series to Europe. Earlier, the update was released in the US, and it is expected to be released in other countries and regions within the next few days.
Galaxy S23 gets May 2024 security update in Europe
The new software update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra brings the May 2024 security update. It is now available (via @tarunvats33) in Europe and comes bearing firmware version S91xBXXS5CXDF. It has a download size of around 450MB but only includes security patches. Don't expect it to bring any new performance improvements or other enhancements.
The May 2024 security patch fixes around four dozen security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous versions of One UI. If you have a Galaxy S23 series phone and you live in Europe, you should now check for the new update on your device. You can do that by opening the Settings app on your phone, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can wait for the new firmware file to be available in our database, download it, and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
This is the first security update the Galaxy S23 series has received after the One UI 6.1 update, which brought several Galaxy AI features and other One UI enhancements. Watch our video below to see how effective those AI features are.
The Galaxy S23 might get the May 2024 security update in Asia, Latin America, and other parts of the world in the next few days. The Galaxy S24 series has already received the new security update alongside some Galaxy A and Galaxy Z series smartphones.
