Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S23 series of smartphones on February 1, 2023. According to multiple reports, all three devices in the lineup—Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra—will be costlier than their predecessors. The pricing of the Galaxy S23 for Germany, which was leaked last week, confirmed those reports. Now, the prices of the Galaxy S23 for the Czech Republic have also leaked, confirming the Galaxy S23 will be costlier than the Galaxy S22.
Smarty, a consumer electronics retailer in the Czech Republic, has created a special page for the Galaxy S23 series phones. This page mentions all the specifications of the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra along with their prices and launch offers. According to the retailer, the base variant of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, will be priced at CZK 34,999 (around $1,599) in the country. That’s a CZK 509 markup compared to 12GB + 256GB Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Even the trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be lower compared to last year’s model. When Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 Ultra in the country, it offered a trade-in value of CZK 5,000 on the device as a launch offer. On the Galaxy S23 Ultra, however, Samsung will offer a trade-in bonus of CZK 3,000 (around $137). So, you will not only be paying more money for Galaxy S23 compared to the Galaxy S22, but you will also get fewer offers.
Fortunately, not everything is terrible. According to the retailer, people who pre-book the Galaxy S23 Ultra will get the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant of the device (which will be priced at CZK 39,499) for the same price as the base variant. However, this offer will be valid only until February 16, 2023. So, if you are planning to get the Galaxy S23 Ultra in the Czech Republic, you better pre-book it or at least purchase it before February 16 to avoid paying the extra money.
