The Galaxy S23 series is now getting its first post-One UI 6.1 update. The update brings the April 2024 security patch to the 2023 flagship. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series, which received One UI 6.1 alongside the Galaxy S23 series, were updated with the April security patch earlier this month.
The update for the Galaxy S23 series sports build numbers S911BXXS3CXD2, S916BXXS3CXD2, and S916BXXS3CXD2 for the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra respectively. Samsung has not included anything except security enhancements in this update, so fixes for One UI 6.1 issues that users are facing will come later.
The April patch brings 27 security fixes from Google for the Android operating system and fixes 17 vulnerabilities that affect Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. These vulnerabilities posed varying levels of risk and allowed attackers to access data and execute code without user permission.
The April update for the Galaxy S23 series is available in Europe and should reach users in other regions before the week is over. If you own an S23, S23+, or S23 Ultra, you can download the update by navigating to the Settings » Software update menu on your phone and tapping Download and install.
This update has not been released for the Galaxy S23 FE yet, so if you own the Fan Edition model, you will have to wait until later this month.
