Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra software update
Samsung has started rolling out the stable version of One UI 9.0 (Android 17) for the Galaxy S23 series outside its home country, South Korea. Europe appears to be the first region to receive the update.
The company seems to be rolling out the update first to Galaxy S23 units enrolled in the beta program. The update is 516.69MB in size and carries firmware version S91xBXXUAGZIF (via @diablosbiz).
Samsung is expected to release the stable One UI 9.0 update for Galaxy S23 units that weren’t enrolled in the beta program, as well as those in other countries, in the coming hours. You can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 9.0 brings several changes and improvements over One UI 8.5, including more Quick Panel customization options, enhancements to Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes, improved accessibility features, a location privacy indicator, and new AI features. You can check out these changes in our video below.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series in February 2023 with One UI 5.1 (Android 13). The company promised four major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for the lineup. This means One UI 9.0 is most likely the final major OS upgrade for the Galaxy S23 series, and the phones are unlikely to receive One UI 9.5.
