Samsung changed some aspects of its mobile strategy a few years ago, wherein the company shifted its focus toward services, software support, optimization, sustainability, and build quality. The Galaxy S24 series embraces this new philosophy more than any other flagship before it, and to top it all off, it introduces new AI-powered features. And so far, the formula appears to be paying off.
The Galaxy S24 series has broken pre-order records in many countries, including the Netherlands. Samsung Netherlands recently announced that the Galaxy S24 lineup recorded a 50% increase in pre-order figures compared to the Galaxy S23.
Samsung Netherlands Marketing Manager Gerben van Walt Meijer attributes this pre-order record to AI features. “Galaxy AI transforms our connection to the world […]. Our users' enthusiasm for these new capabilities is reflected in the early sales figures, which are breaking all previous records.”
The era of mobile AI is here for Galaxy phones
The new Galaxy S24 trio embraces new AI tools like Chat Assist, Live Translate, Generative Edit, Summarize, and more. The flagship also boasts a new AI feature called Circle to Search, and Samsung Netherlands says it is “a real game changer in the field of search.” As of now, the only other phones to offer Circle to Search are the Google Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro.
Customers who have pre-ordered the Galaxy S24 in the Netherlands took advantage of Samsung's free storage upgrade and other bonuses and bundle deals. Although the pre-order window is closed, prospective buyers can now acquire the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra for €899, €1,149, and €1,449, respectively.
The Galaxy S24 is also a hit in Korea, where it reached almost 1.2 million pre-sales in the first week and surpassed Galaxy Note 10 pre-orders from a few years ago by 38%. Likewise, the phone topped pre-booking records in India, the Philippines, and others.
