Of all the Galaxy smartphones eligible for the One UI 6.1 update, only flagship devices launched in 2023 will get the Galaxy AI experience found on the Galaxy S24 lineup.
Samsung has said that the Galaxy S23 series (including the S23 FE), Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 will get the Galaxy S24's AI features, and the company seems to have taken a major step toward that goal this week.
An update for the Samsung On-Device Resource app has been released on the Galaxy Store. Before the Galaxy S24 series came out, this app provided on-device processing of features such as speech-to-text processing in Bixby and speech recognition for voice typing in Samsung Keyboard.
On the Galaxy S24 series, the app provides on-device processing for some of the new AI features, such as Interpreter, Live Translate in calls, and converting voice recordings to text transcripts, and with the newer version now available on older devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy S23, it looks like the One UI 6.1 update for these flagships could be getting closer to release.
It's unclear right now if Samsung will bundle the Galaxy S24's AI features with the One UI 6.1 update or release them as part of a separate update for compatible devices, but we will let you know as we learn more.
