Samsung's new Galaxy S24 flagships and the One UI 6.1 update boast several brand-new AI features powered by Large Language Models (LLM).

These AI tools allow users to communicate with people in other languages through live translations, transcribe audio recordings, format and summarize documents, and more. However, these features support a limited number of languages.

Galaxy S24 AI might not understand you

If you're wondering whether or not you'll be able to use all these clever new AI tools in your native language on the Galaxy S24 and in One UI 6.1, here's a full breakdown of which languages are supported.

Search Generative Experience (in-depth answers and Conversational Search) — Supported in 127 countries except Europe and Australia and seven languages, English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Japanese, and Korean.

Live Translations in phone calls — Chinese, English (India, UK, US), French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese.

Interpreter and Voice Recording translations: Same as the above.

Note Assist and “Straighten” is available in all languages.

Note Assist “Align letters” and “Fix the shape of letters” are available in Korean, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, English, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese.

Note Assit “Evenly space words” supports Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and English.

Speaker Labels function for Voice Recorder — supported in Korean and English.

Real-Time Chat Translation for Samsung Messages, Google Messages, Google Chat, KakaoTalk, WhatsApp, Signal, Instagram, Live Messages, and Tango — supported languages include Chinese, English (India, UK, US), French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korea, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese.

Samsung may add support for more languages later on, but this most likely depends on Google. These conversational AI features rely heavily on Google's Large Language Model.
