In September this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 FE, a toned-down version of the Galaxy S24 series smartphones that is much cheaper than its siblings, which makes it possible for people to get their hands on the company’s latest lineup of non-foldable flagship smartphones without spending a lot of money. However, Samsung is now offering the Galaxy S24 for almost the same price as the Galaxy S24 FE. So, does it make sense to go for the Fan Edition model?

Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 in India in January with a starting price of INR 79,999. Now that the phone is almost ten months old, the company and e-commerce platforms in the country have started offering discounts on the phone. With that, it is now available for around INR 58,000 on Amazon India.

On the other hand, Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 in India in September with a starting price of INR 59,999. Since the phone is still new, the company isn’t offering high discounts on it. With that, the phone is available in the market for around INR 56,000. That’s only INR 2,000 less than what the Galaxy S24 costs.

So, should you get the Galaxy S24 or the Galaxy S24 FE?

The Galaxy S24 is significantly better than the Galaxy S24 FE in everything except for two: Display size and battery capacity. While the former has a 6.2-inch display and a 4,000mAh battery, the latter has a 6.7-inch screen and a 4,700mAh battery. With that, the Galaxy S23 FE will be better for typing and watching content and it will also last longer on a single charge compared to the Galaxy S24.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 is made out of better materials, has a brighter and stronger display, a faster processor, significantly better front and rear cameras, and newer connectivity options. With that, the Galaxy S24 is more resistant to damage and scratches, its display looks better under direct sunlight, it performs faster and takes better photos and videos compared to the Galaxy S24 FE.

The story continues after the video…

If you can live with the display size and battery capacity (and life) of the Galaxy S24, it should be the one you should go for. If you can’t make those comprises, you should go for the Galaxy S24 FE. If you decide to get the Galaxy S24, now is a great time to go ahead with the purchase as it is available at a discounted price. However, if you want to get the Galaxy S24 FE, you should wait till the device gets a little older because Samsung would then start offering discounts on it.
