Yesterday, Samsung released the August 2024 security update to the global variants of the Galaxy S24 series. Today, the company has started rolling out the Galaxy S24 August 2024 security update for the US-specific variant.
Galaxy S24 August 2024 security update now available in USA
The factory-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra have started getting the new security update in the USA. The new software update comes with firmware version S92xU1UES3AXFJ and brings the August 2024 security patch. The phones were supposed to get camera improvements with the August update, but that hasn't happened.
The new update is minor and only includes the August 2024 security patch that was detailed earlier this week. According to Samsung's security bulletin, the newest security patch includes fixes for almost 50 security vulnerabilities that were discovered in Samsung's previous software version.
If you have a factory-unlocked Galaxy S24 series phone in the US, you can now check for the new update on your device. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software Update, and tap Download and Install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S24 series haven't received the new security update yet, but it will likely be released in the next few days. Samsung might also release the One UI 7.0 Beta update to the Galaxy S24 series in the next few weeks. It could also delay releasing the camera improvements and include those optimizations in the One UI 7.0 release cycle.
Most eligible Galaxy phones and tablets will likely get the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update before the end of this year. The Galaxy S24 is Samsung's first smartphone to promise seven major Android OS updates, and One UI 7.0 will be its first major software update.
