According to several leaks, Samsung will hold the launch event for the Galaxy S24 series on January 17, 2024. Ahead of the launch, Samsung is busy acquiring certifications for its upcoming high-end smartphones. In a recent development, the Galaxy S24 has been certified and is ready to be launched in Singapore.

Galaxy S24 clears IMDA certification in Singapore

The vanilla Galaxy S24, bearing model number SM-S921B/DS, has received IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) certification (via MySmartPrice). The model number of the phone reveals that it is the dual-SIM variant of the smartphone. IMDA is a certification authority in Singapore that provides approval for telecommunication and radio equipment, including smartphones. It also reveals that the phone has 5G, Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi connectivity. The certification was applied by Samsung Electronics Singapore PTE. LTD. Not much else has been revealed by this certification.

The Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra may be in the process of receiving this certification if they've not received it already.

Leaked Galaxy S24 features and specifications

As per previous leaks and reports, the Galaxy S24 has a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, HDR10+, 2,600 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Armor protection. The phone features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It has Armor Aluminum 2.0, as per some leaks, but it isn't clear how stronger it is compared to the Galaxy S23.

The phone has a 12MP selfie camera with autofocus, a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It can record 4K 60fps videos using all its cameras and up to 8K 30fps videos using its primary rear camera. It has a 4,000mAh battery, 25W fast wired charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

The Galaxy S24 is said to be powered by the Exynos 2400 processor in most countries worldwide. In Canada, China, and the US, the phone will likely come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. It will run Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software out of the box, and it will likely get at least four major Android OS updates.

The phone is said to come with several new AI and Generative AI-powered features, including real-time language translation during voice calls, wallpaper generator, notes summarization, voice-to-text translation of up to ten people in a voice recording, and several wallpaper effects for the lock screen.
