While Samsung missed launching the Galaxy S22 FE, it looks like it has since decided to launch a new Fan Edition Galaxy S phone every year. It was revealed that Samsung has plans to launch the Galaxy S24 FE, and its design has leaked for the first time.
Galaxy S24 FE design brings thinner bezels, but the chin is still thick
The design of the Galaxy S24 FE has appeared for the first time, courtesy of OnLeaks and GizNext. Based on the phone's CAD renders, the leaked images reveal that Samsung has reduced the bezel thickness compared to the Galaxy S23 FE. The Galaxy S24 FE measures 162 x 77.3 x 8 mm compared to the Galaxy S23 FE's 158 x 76.5 x 8.2 mm.
Thanks to its thinner bezels and a slightly bigger body, the company has managed to fit a bigger screen, which measures 6.65 inches diagonally (compared to 6.4 inches on the Galaxy S23 FE).
If we are to believe the accuracy of these renders, the Galaxy S24 FE has a triple-camera setup on the rear, flat metal sides, and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. The power and volume buttons are placed on the phone's right side.
Overall, its design resembles the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+, albeit with a bottom bezel thicker than the bezel on the other three sides. You can look at the phone's design in 360 degrees in the Full HD resolution video below.
Leaked Galaxy S24 FE specifications
As per previous reports, the Galaxy S24 FE features the Exynos 2400 chipset in most countries worldwide. This is the same 10-core processor used in the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+. Although Exynos chips have had issues over the past few years, the Exynos 2400 is actually a pretty good processor.
The Galaxy S24 FE was spotted in Geekbench's database with 12GB RAM and Android 14 (One UI 6). It has a 50MP primary camera and a 10MP selfie camera, which means it uses the same camera setup as its predecessor. It will likely have a 12MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP/10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Currently, details about the Galaxy S24 FE's battery capacity and charging speeds haven't been revealed yet. Considering that the Galaxy S24 still uses 25W fast charging, Samsung is likely to use the same specifications for the Galaxy S24 FE.
The Galaxy S24 FE will likely feature an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and wireless charging. Its connectivity features could include GNSS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
Samsung might announce the phone in late 2024 or in early 2025.
