Samsung is rolling out the latest monthly update for the Galaxy S24 series. The June 2024 update brings security enhancements to the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. Based on the firmware version, this update doesn't seem to offer anything else, so those camera improvements many of us have been anticipating will take longer to arrive.
The USA appears to be the first country to get this update. It is rolling out to Galaxy S24 owners on Verizon's network and sports the build number/firmware version S92xUSQS2AXE4. Since it's just a security update, we can expect it to go live in other markets (and to variants sold by other carriers and unlocked units in the US) soon.
The June 2024 security patch fixes 59 security vulnerabilities in Galaxy devices. 37 of those fixes come from Google and affect all Android devices, while 22 fixes apply only to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. For the nitty-gritty, check out Samsung's official website.
Samsung has taken a little longer than usual to bring this month's security update to its devices. The delay is likely a result of the fact that the company was busy bringing One UI 6.1 to several phones and tablets last month. And since One UI 6.1.1 is coming next month, it may be a while before Samsung gets back to its regular routine for releasing security updates.
To download the latest update on your Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra, open the Settings app on the phone, navigate to Software update, and select Download and install.
