Since 2011, the coming of a new Galaxy S flagship marks the release of a new ringtone. Every year, Samsung reinterprets the iconic “Over the Horizon” musical theme, and needless to say, the latest Galaxy S24 series brings us a new iconic ringtone for 2024.
Samsung's new Over the Horizon is now available on YouTube. The company says this year's ringtone embraces the “Sound from Nature” theme and expresses a harmonious moment when tradition and modernity meet.
A completely different vibe
Over the Horizon 2024 is an orchestral piece featuring the Seoul National University Gugak Orchestra led by music director Won Il, who oversaw the music at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Check out the Galaxy S24 ringtone below.
According to Samsung, the new Over the Horizon orchestral theme was recorded in Dolby Atmos and mastered by sound director Byeong Joon Hwang.
Today, Samsung also released a “Making Of” video for the new Over the Horizon piece on its YouTube channel, featuring interviews (in Korean) with Won Il and Byeong Joon Hwang.
This new ringtone is pre-loaded on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new flagship phones are available for pre-order and will hit the shelves on January 31.
