Samsung is going all in with artificial intelligence on its next flagship, the Galaxy S24. Our sources tell us that Samsung wants to make the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra the smartest AI phones ever, even one-upping what Google has to offer on the Pixel lineup.
That's a lofty ambition, and unfortunately, we haven't received a lot of information about Samsung's plans to achieve that goal. We are told that the Galaxy S24 series will have features lifted straight from ChatGPT and Google Bard, such as the ability to create content and stories based on a few keywords provided by the user.
There will also be features Samsung has designed on its own, such as text-to-image Generative AI which the company talked about when it announced the Exynos 2400, and a lot of them will be available both online and offline. Speech-to-text functionality is one area that will see improvements. Again, we're not sure what those improvements will be, but we can expect Bixby to have more humanlike and smarter conversations with the user.
AI the next big thing to make phones interesting again?
Yes, Samsung hasn't given up on Bixby yet. If anything, the company will probably be putting the spotlight on Bixby more and more in the coming years as manufacturers turn towards artificial intelligence to make smartphones interesting again. Google's the only one doing it seriously at the moment, and Samsung wants to get in on the action as well.
The Galaxy S24 series should also be faster at performing AI tasks compared to a Pixel smartphone thanks to the more powerful Exynos and Snapdragon chips. We can't say just how fast the upcoming phones will be without seeing them in action, and hopefully Samsung will be able to keep things under wraps until the official launch of its next flagship lineup instead of letting the Galaxy S24's AI sthick be revealed through the rumor mill.
We expect the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra to be announced in January, just like some rumors have suggested, though an exact launch date is not known at the moment.
