Samsung hasn't announced the Galaxy S24 yet, but its specifications and some software features have leaked already. It will be the company's first AI phone, featuring several AI features, including translating calls in real-time and text-to-image generation. Now, one more Galaxy S24 feature has been revealed.
Android Authority says the Galaxy S24 series could feature a lockscreen shortcut to Snapchat's camera mode. A similar feature was unearthed a few days ago that would allow users to set Instagram's camera mode as the lock screen shortcut on the Galaxy S24. When this feature is enabled, customers can enable a shortcut that would lead them directly to Instagram's or Snapchat's camera mode from the lock screen of their Galaxy S24 series phone.
This feature isn't unheard of, as OnePlus 11 recently received a similar feature with the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 update. Strings related to this feature were found in the beta version (12.62.0.36) of Snapchat's Android app. It isn't clear if this feature will be released to existing phones with a software update. The Galaxy S24 could launch with Android 14 and One UI 6.1 pre-installed.
A few years ago, Samsung worked with Instagram to let users post images and videos captured using the stock camera app to the social media app's profile feed or story. Lock screen integration with Instagram and Snapchat is similar, cutting down the time it takes to capture and share memories with friends.
