For instance, One UI 5.1, which made its debut on the Galaxy S23 last year, was released to older devices like the Galaxy S22 before the S23 lineup went on sale. One UI 6.1, on the other hand, is nowhere to be seen, with Samsung only offering the annoyingly vague timeline of “the first half of 2024.”
As of February 20, Galaxy S24's first software update is only available in Korea
Samsung is also taking it slow when it comes to updates for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. The company announced the first Galaxy S24 update almost a week ago, but since then it has only been released in Korea.
So if you have been wondering why your Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra hasn't received that update yet, you're not alone. Samsung has not released the update in any other market as of February 20.
How much longer will Galaxy S24 owners outside Korea have to wait? In the USA and Canada, the update could come out by February 22-23, but it could take longer to arrive in other countries as Samsung wasn't specific about a release date in its official announcement and only said that “updates will begin rolling out in February.”
But we have our fingers crossed Samsung will pick up the pace soon, especially since this update is an exciting one that will give Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra users the option to make the display more vibrant and bring numerous improvements to the camera experience and photo and video quality.
