Samsung has released the fourth One UI 7 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series today, and to our surprise, the update has brought one of the Galaxy S25's camera features to the 2024 flagship, or at least the Ultra model.

The latest One UI 7 beta adds the option to record videos in the log format. Videos shot in this format capture the maximum amount of information from the camera sensor to provide a wider dynamic range and the ability to manipulate a video's colors and tone in post production.

Log videos have flat and desaturated colors so they aren't meant for standard video recording. However, if you do shoot in log but don't want to edit it on your own, you can quickly correct the colors from the Gallery app.

While all three Galaxy S25 models can shoot in log, it seems only the Ultra model of the Galaxy S24 lineup is getting the feature. It's unclear why that's the case, though it could have something to do with the fact that the Galaxy S24 and S24+ use an Exynos chip in most parts of the world.

To start recording log videos, you will first have to enable the feature by opening the camera app settings and navigating to the Advanced video options menu. You can enable log support for both the standard video mode and the Pro video mode.

Once you have done that, a LOG button will show up in the camera viewfinder which you can use to switch the feature on and off.
