Earlier this week, we reported that the Galaxy S25 could feature Qi2 for wireless charging. However, we weren't sure the phones in the lineup would use Qi2's Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) for accessories with magnetic alignment. Now, it appears that they will have that feature for ‘Magnetic Cases.'
Galaxy S25 could use Qi2 with MPP for Magnetic Cases
A smartphone retailer from Finland accidentally published information about the color variants of all Galaxy S25 series phones along with all the official accessories that Samsung will likely launch. The information also includes storage variants for all three upcoming phones.
Samsung will reportedly launch ‘Magnetic Cases' for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. This case will only come in transparent color for all three phones.
The Magnetic Case will likely work with Qi2 wireless charging and magnetic alignment via Qi2-compatible wireless chargers. Hopefully, it will also be compatible with other Qi2 or MagSafe accessories like wallets, power banks, and pop grips.
You should note that while Qi2 incorporates Apple's MagSafe system (called MPP) for magnetic alignment, it is optional, and brands can exclude it and still get Qi2 certification.
Samsung could launch other official cases and covers for the Galaxy S25 series. They are listed below.
- Clear Case (Transparent)
- Kindsuit Case (Black, Gold, Gray, Light Blue)
- Rugged Case (Black)
- Standing Grip Case (Black, Gray, White)
- Silicone Case (Black, Blue, Light Blue, Mint, Red)
If this information is correct, this would be the first time that Samsung will launch the Kindsuit Case for Galaxy S series phones. It is currently only available for Galaxy Z series foldable phones.
The Galaxy S25 will reportedly come in 128GB and 256GB variants, while the Galaxy S25+ will come in 256GB and 512GB variants. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to be launched in three storage variants: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
