Samsung just unveiled three new high-end phones. While the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the most capable of them, the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ bring a lot to the table, even though they are not that different from their predecessors hardware-wise. Let us have a look at their best features.
1. Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy makes everything faster, better
Most of the improvements in the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ come with the help of the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor. It is a massive improvement over the Exynos 2400 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chip used in the Galaxy S24.
The 3nm chip has a 37% faster CPU, a 30% more powerful GPU, and a 40% better NPU. It allows the phone to be faster, play games smoother, and capture better memories. Thanks to the NPU, Galaxy AI features work faster and better.
Its processor also brings improved wireless connectivity in the form of Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7.
2. Improved Galaxy AI features
Samsung improved what it started with the Galaxy S24. Several Galaxy AI features can now work on the device, offering faster results. And all your data stays on the device, which is great if you are worried about privacy.
The Circle to Search feature can now recognize phone numbers, URLs, and email addresses on the screen. So, Circle to Search can now offer saving a number, visiting a webpage, or sending an email to the address you found somewhere.
3. Now Brief
The Now Brief offers personalized, actionable suggestions based on your usage patterns. It takes information from Samsung Calendar, Samsung Health, SmartThings, and other stock apps.
It can offer things like your Energy Score, Sleep Score, and weather forecast when you wake up. When you are on your way to work, it can offer directions to your workplace and a music playlist for the commute. In the evening, it can display memories (images and videos) you captured that day and your step count.
Those suggestions appear on the Now Bar on the lock screen and the Now Brief widget on the home screen.
4. Seven major Android OS updates
High-end phones should last long, and Samsung is ready to support its new phones for a long time. The company has promised to offer seven major Android OS updates and security updates for seven years.
The Galaxy S25 series comes preloaded with Android 15 (One UI 7.0), and it will get updated to Android 22.
5. Quicker access To Gemini
The Galaxy S25 is the first Samsung phone that lets you summon Google's Gemini AI using the power button on the right. You can hold the button to quickly access Gemini.
6. Improved Camera quality
While Samsung hasn't upgraded the camera hardware on the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+, the new chip offers improved camera quality, thanks to the new chip and new algorithms.
The new ProVisual Engine offers more details on all zoom ranges and in all lighting conditions. The phones also record videos in 10-bit HDR by default, offering more dynamic range and deeper colors than earlier.
Videos captured in low-light conditions are clearer, too, thanks to lower noise, wider dynamic range, and better colors.
The Galaxy S25 series now analyzes movement to detect moving and static objects. Those two things are processed differently. This allows sharper images and cleaner footage.
The phones can also record videos in Galaxy Log format. Those videos have a flatter color profile, and you can tune the colors as per your preferences in the built-in video editor. The Virtual Aperture feature lets you adjust the separation between the foreground and the background.
Samsung has improved Portrait Studio, allowing you to create personalized avatars with more true-to-life facial expressions. The company has also added a new feature called Flters. They offer analog (film) like aesthetics for photos and videos. Audio Eraser lets you remove unwanted noises or sounds from videos.
