Samsung may release a brand-new Galaxy S model to complement the upcoming Galaxy S25 series in 2025. It's been purportedly named Galaxy S25 Slim, but a new rumor says it may not be launched alongside the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup at Unpacked.
Come January 22, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will hit the stage at the first big Unpacked event of the year. We may or may not see a glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Slim model, but according to a new rumor on X, Samsung might plan to launch it in May 2025.
If true, Samsung will hopefully spill the beans at Unpacked and tell us more about what we can expect from the Galaxy S25 Slim. Otherwise, prospective Galaxy S25 buyers might hold off on upgrading to the 2025 flagship before they see what the Galaxy S25 Slim is capable of.
Late last year, Samsung upset some Galaxy Z Fold 6 users when it announced the limited-edition Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition for Korea only a few months after the Z Fold 6 debuted. Hopefully, Samsung won't pull the same stunt with the Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy S25 Slim.

Thankfully, at the very least, there are some clues that point to the Galaxy S25 Slim enjoying an international release. But again, nothing has been officially confirmed so far, and availability could vary by market.
According to rumors, the Galaxy S25 Slim should feature the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip as the rest of the lineup but boast new and more advanced camera technologies that could surpass the base and Plus Galaxy S25 models.
As far as the usual trio of flagships go, Samsung already accepts reservations ahead of the January 22 event. There's even a contest in the USA wherein anyone who reserves the Galaxy S25 has a chance to win $5,000 in Samsung store credit, regardless of whether or not they end up buying the phones.
